OUR TRADITION
Vision
Since its founding in 2003, Juniper’s vision has remained on a singular goal: to plant the seeds of Vajrayana methods into modern culture so that they might benefit new generations of individuals, for hundreds, or even thousands, of years, and beyond.
Juniper's vision is to bring to modern culture a tradition of inner transformation that will counter the tremendous stresses of modern living and guide humanity to harmonize its genius for progress with its capacity for peace of mind, joy, and inner well-being. With predictions of even higher levels of mental stress as we emerge from the pandemic, the need is greater than ever.
Segyu Choepel Rinpoche
We are realizing this vision through embedding in contemporary life the lineage of Tibetan Buddhist teachings held by Segyu Choepel Rinpoche. As a lineage holder of one of Tibetan Buddhism’s most prestigious schools, Rinpoche gained access to the innermost practices and wisdom of Tibetan Buddhism that few outside of Tibet have ever had; and he spent over thirty years absorbing those practices and wisdom from his Tibetan teachers.
It is extremely rare to have a lineage holder with both the ability and the aim to embed this lineage in a new culture. As a result of almost a lifetime of work, we can with complete confidence say that Rinpoche is providing Juniper with an unbelievable lineage of transformation that encompasses all of the wisdom and practices that we need to make this tradition our own. From this foundation, we have a unique opportunity to build a strong, empowered community of individuals who will grow from Juniper’s practices and use them to benefit others and the world.
To learn more Juniper created a booklet called Awakening the Mind that you can download here.
The main goal should be to establish a practice for people that brings joy, hope and clarity, that is enlightening and positive, not dark, dogmatic and heavy. It should always encourage, enrich and dignify us.”
